Branch Brook
You know how we have all been wishing for a nice sunny day . I'm here to say fuck that. We did Branch Brook on Saturday and it was about 75-80 degrees . I felt like a Popsicle melting on the ground . The race was 100k and its basically a crit Ouch !
We wanted to play the breakaway card due to the length of the race , so we were near the front in shifts . Mike said he felt sick then there was a crash off my back wheel . After the post crash surge let up I heard Mike yell to me , and I was like all good ? He replied that was Eric and it didn't look good ! Fuck. We went by the crash and luckily he wasn't on the ground . We caught up with him a lap later. I stayed on the front looking for the right move , when Mike came up and said pack sprint ? So I went to the back to rest up fro later in the race and yup right on schedule the break went up the road . DOOOO !!! New rule , when we think pack sprint that's when I go to the front . As the laps wore down I made a few attempts to get across the gap but the race was over . The quote of the day is by the Bubble poster boy himself, Happy Chappy , he is up the road and comes back into the field and someone asks if he was in the break and his reply " I decided to take a lap off " That's the best !! I'm going to use that one someday . Classic shit you cant make that up .
