35+ The plan was simple the execution was not . Mike was going to look for a move Jeeves was to help out and look to make a move if it appeared . Me sit in and wait for the right move . The course was much harder than I remembered it to be . Henk got it right its like Sunepe but harder. There isn't one flat road in this race . Its up or down , but nothing to hard it just wears you down . All was looking good although I think Mike over extended himself a few to many times . Nothing was going to get away . We tried to set a move up a couple times Jeeves to soften it up and then hit it , but nothing . I was laying low about 15 to 25 deep all day trying not to use any energy . The race was winding down and at about 10 miles to go my day went to shit . I felt something on my arm and low and behold it was a bee . Then the fucker stung me (I'm allergic) The good thing about racing and getting stung is no big swelling , the bad part I cant breath well . I tryed not to let it get to my head but my heart rate didn't go over 145 the last 8 miles. I just couldn't catch my breath . I told Mike but he was tired in the finial . Jeeves tried but hes was stuffed to . I stood and was going to give it a go , the legs and mind were willing but the lungs wernt. That's Karma for you . What the FUCK . On the bright side I got to talk to a few guys I haven't seen in a while .

At least that's a better excuse than, "I forgot my shoes".
Glad you didn't die of Anaphylaxis.

Fuck Nick dont go getting soft on me . I threw up a great big soft ball for you to hit there .
I think wishing you dead would be stepping over the line. I do wish, however, that I could buy that bee a beer.

Rondo,
I also remembered that race all wrong. Of course, the 88-degrees didn't help, nor did the final 4+ miles uphill (new this year). My elevation read only 4100 ft, but it seemed more like 6000 ft. By the time my race came through, there were guys all along the side of the roads trying to massage cramps, or dealing with crashes on the descent on the crappy road with frost heaves) like it was a Civil War battlefield.

The 1,2,3 Peleton missed a turn thanks to an eleventeen year old crotch rocket rider and missed the crap road section, carving 3 miles off the course.... oh well...
I got a front row seat for the finish as the break came in "behind" us...
I blame it on the curse of the "unattached" Unkert.
Lets not let Norton live this one down...
Glad to hear you are OK because I don't think Mike would have done mouth-to-mouth on you! I hope the fuckin' bee got what he deserved!
Miguel
My Alt read 5700 after the race .
That rough road wasnt bad at all.
I gave the bee got a nice slap on the back Nick & Miguel.
The race sounds like a fucking mess. Glad I missed it. It's not like Norton, he usually puts on a well run race. I'm surprised. What time are you guys leaving to go to Jiminy Peak? How long does it take?
Crowell
We are going to ride to Jiminy Peak. Its 75 miles, takes 3 hrs and has about 8000 ft of climbing. Just like your Saturday ride.
Dave "who the fuck is Dave Hartman" Hartman, showed me some hills on Saturday that I have never seen before and hope to never see again. They were brutal. Woodbury / Roxbury area has got some Horton Hill type steep grades. And to top it off Dave got bit by a dog.
Crowell
I hope Dave is okay?
Wow what a toss up for the dog Crowell you or Heartmann I guess the meat looked sweeter on him .
Ha ha, yes I willed the field to go the wrong way as I knew it would irritate a lot of people, and I'm good at that.
