Fuck the SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
No Sunday ride today . I guess I'll tell you about my 5 hour didy on Saturday . Let me give you a little background first I was on my last week of a micro-cycle (the longest week ) so I was a little knackered to begin with . E said he wanted to come , I thought the company would be good . The ride was two separate rides that I melded into one with 9 climbs and about 7500ft of climbing . We departed my house at 700am sharp and made the drive to Pompaueraug high school . When we set out it was 17degrees burrrrrrr . We keep a good tempo on the first climb which is 4 miles long . About 3/4 of the way up E looked at me and said "this climb is no joke" ! I thought to my self if he only knew what was to come . We made our way to one of my favorite climbs 254 form Thomaston to Litchfield . This is a 20 + minute climb then you get a downhill then 2 steep pops before you hit rt118 . Then there is the wall of Litchfield it's not long but is steep and you have no momentum when you hit it. We then made are way around Bantam lake . That's when we saw the Badger group with fatboy Crowell at the back . He ask E if he could come with us , thank god he knew better . I wish I was there when he told him no ! When he hit Netteletown rd at the 3hour mark , I knew the suffering would begin . This is when the short steep climbs start . I'll name them if your from the area you'll know them . First is Wyhkem its not bad but gets the legs warmed up . Then its on to the hardest Calhoun this is a 2 mile climb that is 1.5 miles of nasty dirt then you get on to the pavement and its a .5 mile climb with a 24% grade on it . When we got near the top E said this is a good idea because ? You know , I had no answer for him . I'll have to think about that one and get back to him . After that leg breaker you get a 5 mile reprieve . Then its up Sawpit rd its just nasty . With 3 hours and 50 min in we hit Grassy hill rd its 2 miles of pain , at this point I was on autopilot . We took in some dirt sectors before assaulting the last climb , Bucks hill rd . Its about the same as Grassy but once over the top you know its a 15 minute ride back to the car . When we got back we needed 15 minutes to make 5 hours so we did a loop of the old Tuesday night course . Totals for the day were 5 hours 78 miles 7500 ft climbing at 15.5 mph . E's garmin said he burned 4000 calories but mine said 2300 I think his maybe a little off . The Starbucks was extra tasty for some reason .

Battenkill registration tonight at 700pm. I remember last year you were not aware that registration was this early and you missed out!!
Rondo says no to Battenkill. Refuses to pay $80.00 for a bike race. Says, it's just not right!
For this, i must agree with Rondo...
Anyone that pays $70-80 is a fool . When other promoters see that you idiots are willing to pay that much they will raise the prices of there races to !!!!!!
I wanted a long ride so I told Eric that I wanted to tag along with you two idiots (what the fuck was I thinking wanting to listen to you for 5 hrs, I need my head examined)but I also told him that I knew you would be a dick about it so I did not bother calling him back. Unlike you, I did not drive my care out to the Litchfield area, I rode my bike from prospect and met up with Hartman and P. Johnson for the Southbury Saturday ride. After the ride I rode my bike home. 5 1/2 hrs, 86 miles @ 16mph average. I'm not sure of the climbing numbers but I bet it was equal to yours all said and done.

What ever you say fatboy . I dont think Nick could make a 5.5 hour ride .
I boycott Battenkill
I definitely couldn't listen to your freakin' mouth for 5.5 hours...that's for sure.

$75 dollars is too much! No thanks.
Cant we all get along? Eric is tired of playing peacemaker between Idiotsville and Chunkiness. Both of you are morons. That said, good luck in April Chris
80 miles of hill-climbing at the end of December on a day that topped out at 23 degrees, are you guys nuts?
Yea nuts cause there's no reason to ride so hard when the season is still months away.
