Tour Of Bahamas
First I have to lay down a little background on the flight . We flew from LGA to Fort Lauderdale then transferred and jumped to the island . On the flight to the island there were like 20 guys on the flight for the race . Sitting right behind us was this guy and his fucking annoying wife . This chick didn't shut up for the 35 mins . She was fucking telling everyone that her husband was a great bike racer and he rides 100 miles a day and he walks on water etc etc . Anyway this smug looking little fag shows up at the race today and come to find out the dick is in the 3/4 race . That blew my plan of stealing a water bottle from the chick every lap on Sunday . Now on to the race , we got directions to the race from the lady at the sign in on Friday night . She was like just go straight and follow the coast for 1o miles you cant miss it . We left the hotel at at 800 for the 930 start of Robyn's race . Plenty of time right ? Wrong we end up on the wrong side of the island so know were fucking hammering to A)find the race and B)make it in time . We finally came across two marshall had them call the start finish line and hold up her race , which was about to start . So are 10 mile warm up turned into a 25 mile slug fest . That was a close one but we dodged the bullet . Robyn came in 2 in the 30 mile circuit race . Then we went off at 1100 , riders of note Floyd Landis , Garmin u23 team , VMG guys and some fast FLA boys . The race started off at a good tempo and the Garmin team went to the front sent a few guys with a who's who of Fla then went across the road and fucking blocked !!! They had scooters riding on the side of us and were real strict about yellow line . The race was shut down and there was nothing we could do about it . On the back side of the course I hit this big thing sticking out of the road and lost both of my bottles . FUCK its 80 and I have no water on the first 6 miles of a 45 mile race . Whit the yellow line rule I couldn't get to E for 3 laps . We put in some work but the move was gone . I told E to q off me in the sprint , so with about 1k to go I hit the front and drove it until about 100 meters E got run off the road with 500 to go . That went well !!!!! Now we get to sit and cook for 2.5 hours and wait for a 3 mile TT . Let me tell you I was real motivated being down 3 mins to really kill my self in a TT . I rode just hard enough not to get caught by the VMG guy that started behind me and not catch the Garmin guy in front of me . After the TT we had a 10 mile ride back to the hotel we jumped in with the Garmin team and a few others and cruised home . Tomorrow we have a 110 mile RR YUMMMM .

Fun reading your report Ron. Keep' em coming if you can. I must live my life with blinders on or something because in my 43 years I have maybe a handful of stories to tell. Even then, I don't feel they are that interesting. On day in Bahamas and already so much drama. All I can think of when I hear Bahamas is the awesome beach along the Atlantis Hotel. Nope, can't think of any good stories to tell about that though. Just the memories of the crystal clear warm water there.
Wait a minute, I'm not 43 yet.
Ron,
Your post should read "I pretended not to ride all out in the TT because there was no way in hell I was catching a pro from Garmin and I almost got caught by the guy behind me. I also pretended the yellow line rule made a difference as if I could have actually chased down a pro break. Thankfully due to sucking wheel all day long and barely hanging on I might be able to get a result at the first Bethel, like 6th or something, because everyone else is out of shape. I will then act like I am a super rider the rest of the year."
Good one tim
I truly enjoyed this week's Rondo file, very well written with the ensuing drama expected.
For today's Sunday ride, Crowell took off from the parking lot and then 10 miles down the road, McG yelled at him for "attacking". Ride was fast and steady all the way to the top of the "sprint" on West street, then was slower and steady on the return. The new Trek guy crashed, but it wasn't caused by Rondo, go figure? Same drama, different week.
And I had two hours in before the ride when I realized I left without my helmet. Keeping up the tradition . . .
Good job E! Ride Floyd off in the rr and say, "No dope, no hope."
E was not on "dope" when beating Floyd, but was with "Dope" (alias Rondo)
GREAT JOB ROBYN!!! By the way, John I joined me storming out of the parking lot.
