2/22/10
It was a bright sunny day but the wind would once again be the defining factor of the Sunday throw down. Robyn and I meet E, Ciocci and the Wizard at Brugress. We slogged into the wind and a smile came across my face as I knew the ride would blow to pieces. You cant fake fitness into the wind! We got to the park early so we rode up rt10 to meet the S&S crew. Back at the park a who's who of the local scene were assembling. Iden and his crew and a few CVC guys also a couple Medics. You just knew it would be fast. We got going and the funny thing was we went slow for the first few miles. I think everyone was feeling each other out. Iden's guys put in a few softening up moves but not much damage was done. The ride started going on the false flat before the industrial park. At the corner a small group pulled away and looked promising Max from CVC jumped to go across and I latched on to his wheel. E was up in the move so I sat on until he wasn't making anymore ground then I jumped the rest of the way on my own. This wasn't going to be the move so I didn't put much effort into it. As we hit the light the we regrouped. I looked around the pack was still pretty big I guess the wind was a factor but not in the way I thought. At the ski slope 4 or 5 of us were pulling hard to try and break the will of some of the weaker riders. The wind was fucking blowing let me tell you. The pace line was pretty spotty the few guys that were putting in the bulk of the work were having to double and triple pull in the line to keep it going. As we approached the turnaround a Iden rider set off on his own, we didn't give him much thought there was still a long way to go. On the hill I had Ciocci keeping me at the front waiting for the next attack, it came from LT. We let him go he was just polishing his sprint and that wasn't what I was interested in. On the coroner I started to hit it and Kioski went with me he pulled through and I got on his wheel. I looked back and it was me and him so I kept my effort to a minimum. I was looking for a good group to ride in with but we were absorbed at the Lowes light. The funny thing was at the light the group was still pretty big! I started to scratch my head a little bit. Now in the tailwind the ride was moving fast. We were full gas through Milldale and all the way to the light at the trestle. With a little regrouping there the ride was getting smaller. I attacked on the false flat by the green houses, over by the old train tracks 3 bubbles came by me I thought this was the pack and eased up.I looked back and E was about 50 meters off them so I waited and got in line with the pack. On rt10 the bubble trio was doomed. The group was all back together as we hit the S&S hill I saw a guy that sprinted, go through the light the pack had to stop and we got the next few lights and to be honest I forgot about the rider up the rode. As we got going on the run in the pace was fast everyone taking there last big pull of the day. Two Iden guys were queuing up for a move so I made my way on to there wheels. I was pretty intent on "winning" today because of all the work I put in. The Iden lead out was fast man, the dude that was pulling was strong the problem was he cooked his teammate. When he pulled of his teammate just sat up so I went into full gas mode. With 1/4 of a mile to go I looked back and I was gone I just coasted the rest of the way in. The problem was Guido was in front of me, I hadn't seen him all day so I thought he flatted or something. He rides up to me and said how he rode the whole way in alone. I guess he the the guy at S&S, well good for him. I had a good workout in even if the crafty German snuck away. 1 more Sunday ride before the racing starts.

At first I was impressed with your correct spelling of words like "defining", "regrouping", and "queuing". However, unless there's a new bagel place named "Brugress", there was a murder and you indeed hit it on the "coroner", and you got a new teammate named "Kioski" to replace that lanky, ugly bastard Koski...my admiration is short-lived.
