3/1/10

The last Sunday ride of 09-10 was pretty anti-climatic. My ride started off in sunny warm weather then it went to shit. I walked out the door there wasn't a cloud in the sky and the bank sign said 45deg. It was like a cartoon I went over the tracks into New Haven and the sky was grey and the temp dropped like 8deg. I looked back at the hood and it was still sunny, I was not amused. I met E and Ciocci at Bruegger's and E informed me that it was snowing in Cheshire. The turn out at the giant was a little thin for the time of year. The ride rolled out none the les,s when we got on the back roads they were demoed. We moved along pretty steady but nothing to drastic, I did see Nick suffering. I think its time to take up a new sport dude, maybe Jarts. The pace picked up by the industrial park, then by the ski slope things got serious. As we approached the turnaround Mike got a flat, I wanted to have the ride stop do a quick fix and get going again 90% of the guys were willing to but a few guys that I didn't even know were on the ride kept going. I guess if that's the only way you can "win" well more on this to come on Wednesday. We rode easy so that Mike and big Johnny could catch us at the short cut. I guess Mike couldn't get the tire off so they never hooked back up with us. The pace never got going again E and I wernt going to push the pace with Mike chasing so that Left Josh and Crowell to do the work. OK Josh to due the work.We got the pace back up on rt10, everyone took there last death pull and that's was that the last Sunday ride for this year, let the racing begin. Now if some of you guys are saying why would we stop the ride for Mike and not me? Here is the answer, if the ride doesn't stop for you then you A) don't animate the ride week in week out. B) have not been doing the ride for 20+ years C) keep riding when the group says to stop for one of the top riders. Now go to your room and think about this.

Whatever, Ron! If nothing else I animate the ride week-after-week!

Mike, thanks for helping me.

I was all for easing up and waiting for Mike, but in fairness to the guys that went up the road, Mike did say to keep going and that he was all set.

See you guys in Bethel. It was a fun winter. I enjoyed the blog and look forward to reading the fictional race reports in the weeks to come.

Ben,
You couldn't animate the ride if you had the whole staff of Hanna Barbera as your lead out train.

Fuck the guys that went up the road.

I want to see a short movie on the origins of the Ron and Mike friendship and why the two are in-separable ( think: Milo & Otis, PB & J, Lance & Ochowitz, Koski & used douche bags, etc... )

Leave Ron alone. Stopping by himself to help Mike out would have ruined his Sunday "Race", so he did the next best thing by trying to stop the entire pack.

I didnt stop because Mike lives in Plainville and I live in West Haven. The last time I checked they were at diffrent ends of the state. I didnt feel like riding home by myself, New Haven can be a scary place. OK Anon if thats your real name.

If someone flats:
-the ride shouldn't be stopped
-at least one person should wait

If someone crashes:
-everyone should wait, especially if that person is injured.

That is my opinion.....

I suffered like a pig. I'm man enough to admit it. The season is just getting underway though, so I have plenty of time to train and get stronger.

Rondo being an ass...now that's something that will never change.

No worries! I was picking up all the stragglers when I came across Mike, John, Ed, and another rider. Mike had the fist pump going and was in good shape. Karma-What goes around, comes around! Have a good safe season all!

Ben did you put your gay pron blog back up again? I thought you had to take that down as part of your parole.

My record is expunged. I can sue you for slander.

Ben,

You are confused between slander and libel. I was painting down at the county courthouse the other day and got into a conversation with a judge about this very issue. (We shared a cigar and some cognac in his chambers.)

Permanent forms of defamation, such as the written or pictorial, are usually called libel, while the spoken or gestured forms are called slander. The term libel is also often used if a wide audience for the defamation is possible. Courts have split over which category radio and television are in; today's statutes generally categorize defamation occurring in those media as slander. The offenses are alike in several respects. The defamation-essentially exposure to hatred, contempt, ridicule, or pecuniary loss-must directly affect the reputation of a living person. It must be published, i.e., revealed to someone besides the subject of the attack. It is no defense that the defendant merely repeated but did not originate the defamation.

The plaintiff is required to prove the colloquium (circumstances of utterance showing that the statement was directed against him or her specifically) and, when necessary, the innuendo (the factors making an apparently innocent statement defamatory). Generally, truth is an absolute defense in a suit for defamation. A false defamatory statement may be privileged if the actor was a legislator, executive officer, or speaking in a court proceeding. The requirement of colloquium makes unactionable defamation of a large group, e.g., a racial or professional group.

Whether the charge is libel or slander is important. Most libels are deemed injurious and give immediate ground for suit. However, only certain types of statements are slanderous per se and do not require proof of pecuniary damages; these include imputation of crime, of loathsome disease, or of professional or occupational incapacity. In other cases, there may not be any recovery unless the pecuniary loss caused by the injury is proved. The award to the successful plaintiff in a suit for defamation will usually include punitive, as well as compensatory, damages if the defendant willfully lied or published the defamation repeatedly.

Now I get the pin Ball comment about Ben...

Is Ben the guy who hides the whole ride, and then bounces off of people trying to take his one and only pull somewhere on rt 10? He's funny to watch as he climbs all over his bike like a cat trying to avoid being put in a bath tub.

How do you think he does it?
What makes him so good?

Yes, he is the pinball wizard

Hmm . . . I did use the word improperly. But perhaps we should look at the definitions of plagiarism and copy write infringement?

And you guys are right: Sadly, I am no winter racer.

Anonymous,

Everyone's blog has a place in this world. Flemish For Poser operates in the realm of making sense and showing some ass. Rondo's Rage is a glimpse into the nonsense inside Rondo's little, empty, bald head and shows us that he is an ass.

I love each for those very reasons.
