Better later than never. I met up with E, CXChris at the cafe' most notably missing was the flying squirrel. I think he may have been in the fetal position on his kitchen floor still for the Saturday ride. The ride out was into the wind as usual. When we got to the park there was a small crowd there. The S&S group rolled in and it was a quite group. Then I realized that Crowell wasn't there, NICE!! We hit the road and the pace was so-so. On the back roads there was some snow patches here and there but nothing to get your panties in a bunch about. E and Guido went up the road by rt42. Over the hill a second group formed with MCG, CXChris, Foley and some guy dressed in a Spiderman mask that kinda looked like Hunter. The gap to the second group was getting outta hand so I jumped across. The guys I left behind were never to see the field again. After the light at rt68 E and Guido went again but they were caught at the light after the industrial park. When the light went green E went again with Chris B (he joined the ride late.) The gap wasn't much but MCG, Koski and I wernt going to help with the chase so Guido and co had there hands full. On the false flat after the ski slope the field slowed down and the gap went up. By the time we hit the turnaround the gap was HUUUGE. The only way they were coming back was if the field worked together but you know how that goes. The wind was never at our backs it was more of a crosswind so nobody wanted to work so the duo was gone. The light at the trestle was pretty scary when a big rig couldn't stop. It rolled right through the intersection. The rest of the ride was pretty easy we didn't contest any of the sprints. So that was the Sunday ride for 1/16/11 looks like E has some good form for our FLA trip at the end of the month.

ummmmm
STILL in fetal mode after sat.
when i got home i had about 3200 cals burnt on my garmin, and that doesnt take into account the cold.
ouch
the squirrel
Nice video
Squirrel, it sounded like a rough Sat for you, 3200 expended, did you eat and drink enough during the ride? 2 steps forward, one step back OK... one step forward, 2 steps back...not so good...
CxC
had ice instead of water 20 mins in- so i was dehydrated preety quickly. and i had two eggs and toast for breakfast, which was aparently not enough... it wasnt anything a bunch of milk couldnt fix though.
mahoney
Keep your waterbottle in your back pocket on long rides that are below freezing so you have something to drink.

I'm not out there to look pretty... That's your job Ron
If a Stage 1 guy was up the road, those geeks would have chased their guy down. It's great to see that the Zane team is using team-tactics on the Sunday ride.
Brian,
What are you using for a video camera? Awesome video, I like the way your hands show on the edges of the screen.
what tactics do the Zanes smucks use? They're a one trick pony. And Ron can't even look pretty standing next to Robyn.
PB
its a gopro camera. i put it on the stem instead of the bars so it would show my hands like that.

Its not a tatic its just respect.
