There it is 1/3/11, one more year to see if the Mayans were right. First I want to say that I have taken over the Saturday ride. It will no longer be know as the Yale ride it is now the Cafe Romeo ride. Who needs the eggheads anyway, should they be growing a monkey with four asses or something like it. Now on to the ride! Robyn and I had to do something at 1 so we drove to S&S. E and CXChris rode there via the Tuck. We rolled down to the park with the wind at our backs. There was a few of the hard core guys there Hippie Chris, Foley and Mario. Also Iden was in attendance along with two of his droogies. When Mike saw them E and I got the Brave-Heart speech. I know that I have used this one before but it never gets tired to me. The ride started out slow and didn't get rolling until after the light at rt68. The droogies set out on there cookie cutter tactics of whined up the pace and send a guy up the road when they think everyone is tired. I think that one is a little played out. There were a few moves off the front but nothing that stuck. Then at the turnaround McG, Crowell, one of Idens guys and a guy that looked like Otto from Gaul only with a Chris Kringle beard. They got a small gap then at the turn on to West st Otto had a mechanical and Idens guy got popped. It was crowell vs McG for the first sprint of the day. 1 guess who won that one? Now with the wind at our backs the pace sped up. At the milldale turn E and Ron the III went off the front only to get the light at the train tressel, we let them go back up the road when it went green. Bengay went after them, He is like the Tinman and the Scarecrow all in one. He needs a heart and a brain and he might become a bike racer. (there's no place like home) Dorothy made it across to the duo and everyone had the same thought, for how long? The trio and I use that term lightly made the turn on to rt10 and Ron the III went left to go home I guess. That left Dorothy a long way from home and a flying monkey gnawing at his neck. Looks like the house fell on Dorothy this time and he was back in the fold by the prison. E was on his own now and heading for the S&S checkered flag. That's when LT went off in pursuit. It was the age old battle of good trying to banish evil. LT was pedaling like he had the father, son and holey ghost with him. I told Kioski to go after him, we didn't want all of E's work to go for not. I thought that McG would be on my wheel so when Kioski pulled off I went all out and much to my dismay Foley came by me with no McG in site. I think we will have to wait until next week to see who wins the Good vs Evil battle. This is where I end my story if anyone wants to fill in the rest of the story, that would be cool.

Good write-up. Hard ride this week. I’m surprised no mention of me almost "crashing" Otto and then your total exaggeration of the event. Anyway I hope there is no hard feelings on Otto's part. I heard he ended up pushing Eddy A all the way up West St after Ed broke his derailleur.I'm still trying to to get the mud out of my ears.
Chris C.
It may come out of your ears but it will never come out of your ass.
Thanks for the tow Otto! My rear der. snapped clear off my bike.
Eddy A.
Rondo you fat, hairy, old bastard!! I'm laughing my ass off. That was some funny shit. I think I'll make a bike racer yet. This is my year, remember what my wheel looks like.

cc - no hard feelings. what happens on the road, stays on the road.

Ron, since your officially commandeering The Yale Ride, why don't you officially rename The Sleeping Giant Ride over to The Shootout?

Anyone know what the roads look like in Hamden and Cheshire?
Dangerous. Who is riding.
There are roads we will hit still with snow on them.
That sucks. Any Stop & Shoppers interested in using the MTB instead of Road Bike?
Some times it's rollers. Can't get thrown off this time of year. Have a good ride, Ron.
