4/3/11

Back on the bike? Wow guys I want you to go and shake Pete Johnson's hand when you see him. I got on the bike today and let me tell you it was no picnic. I was gasping for air with my heart rate at 115. My heart goes up to 196 still so 115 is me riding at 12mph. The blood thinners are killer, my hands are always cold now to.He told me he has been on them for 15 years. I groveled around New haven just trying to keep moving. I'm not going to lay down and die either though. I promise you will see me ride at a high level again. It may not be next week but I will be back. I feel myself getting stronger every day. I didn't realize how week I was after my stint in the hospital. Today was the first day that I didn't have to take nap after being out and about. I meet with my doctor this week and find out what my rehab will be. I doubt that he will be happy I'm riding again. When I was on my way home Tomas drove up along side me in the family wagon (German of course) and started to cheer me on like I was off the front of a race. That put a big smile on my face for sure, crazy fucking German.

Today, I just got back from a business trip to Israel, and I can honestly say that I said a prayer in Jerusalem.
I was reading on comments made about "E" on the SGR blog, and it seems, that there are way too many "experts" on that blog who feel that being more dangerous is the way to train. Perhaps youth tells us all that we are invisible.
Keep the positive attitude and all things will work out.
