5/4/11
It been awhile since my last post. I have been getting my life going again and I haven't been on the computer at all. I went back to work and have started training again. All of my rides have been an hour and a half so I'm lacking endurance. On to the good stuff, I went to the Neurologist and got a good prognosis. The blood flow to the left side of my brain has improved and the damaged tissue is looking good. I guess it repairs its self some what. I have an MRI scheduled in 3 months and if I don't have any episodes form now till then they will transition me from cuomodon to plavix. Its a blood thinner but not as strong. On Sunday I also threw my hat back into the racing ring. I did the tour of Clots Neck NJ it was a points race on a 3 mile loop. I didn't know what my legs would be like so I stayed near the front and planned to go for the last sprint with double points. I figured that I would win or come in the top 3 if I pulled it off. It was a punchy course with two steep climbs and two fast downhills stretches. The finish was at the top of one of the climbs. On the last lap I got in a good position. I was top 10 and on the inside out of the wind. The guy in front of me made a move as we approached the hill. I went with him he kinda died when we hit the hill so I was forced to go for it a long way out. I got a good gap over the hill and I must say I was felling like I might do it. After the hill it was 500 meters of false flat and a kicking crosswind. I put my head down and dug deep. The wind and distance proved to be to much, I got passed by 5 guys just on the line. When the tallyed the points I ended up 10th not what I wanted but I will take it.

Glad to hear you're back and feeling good. Amazing what a few weeks can do. One minute you're down and out, next thing your back to racing, etc.
I'm sure the experience puts things into perspective. Enjoy and have fun! In your case, Rage on!

Ron,
Only you could stroke out and then go to "tour of Clots Neck."
