12/11/11

Wow I made it through a week without an incident. The shit weather kept me inside for most of it though. Robyn and I went to Southbury yesterday and rode 4 hours and 2 1/2 of it was with the wind in our faces. When I say my legs were a little cooked today that's why. We met up with E,Jelle and the Squirrel then rolled out to S&S to meet McG and the rest of the wingnuts. When we got there to my suprise the whole CVC elite team was there. I said shit, the ride was going to be hard (A whole new level) one might say. It was good to see Henk, Trent and Buckels. I noticed that Krusty the Crowell wasn't there and I asked coach Ed if he wasn't allowed to do the ride? He said that wasn't the case and actually he was given the green light to ride as hard as he wanted on Sunday. Then I offered him $20 a month to tell him he couldn't do the ride. The offer still stands Ed. We picked up old krusty on the bike path(Dam. Down at the park there was a better showing than last week. Guido and the rest of the Egg heads were there as well as Swiss family Bethel. The ride started out slow and everyone was chatting, it was looking like a replay of last week. Then on cue Krusty broke the peace,McG went with him, E and I just eased off the gas and I was hoping that was that, but Guido wanted to play to, so the field brought it all back. It was pretty tempo until the ski slope when Josh G went on the war path for a spell. It was all good until the turnaround, Kurst and Josh went for a flyer, they were back by Lowes. The rest of the ride was a good winter pace. I think the ride avg 21.5 mph. There you have it another week down in the history books of the Sleeping Giant ride.

Also, we are tentatively planning a cyclocross Nationals viewing party (slash) soft opening for the new location on January 8th. Keep it in mind and look for more details soon.
