The Chimp rides again. McG the killer chimp, Krusty, Big Johnny and the public option went up the road early and stuck it. Mcg is going to file a report later on. As far as the rest of the ride it was just a tempo ride. Guido tried his best but it seemed everyone wanted a day off.

We got onto Rt-10 out of the Giant and the pace was just a bit too slow for how cold I was feeling so I just rode up the road at a tempo pace to warm up. Before I knew it there was a 100yrd gap. It seemed like the peloton was just willing to let me ride up the road so I upped the tempo a bit to see how long I could stay away. By the time I hit the downhill side of the false flat on MT Road, Mad Mike, Big John and Jacob came up. I looked back and they had a good gap on the rest of the field so I latched onto them. We kept a steady pace to RT-68 and caught the light, just before the group caught up to us so we knew we would have a couple min on the rest of the gang. We rode a good steady hard pace with all 4 of us taking equal pulls. We made it through the 322 light with no one insight so we just kept on the gas into the wind up MT Vernon Rd (I was riding my new set of VOSS 60/60 tubulars which cut the wind perfectly. I highly recommend them). We hit the turn-around and got the tail wind. I attempted to get a jump on Jacob to try and take the West St hill sprint but he was able to nip me at the top. Once we got up over the false flat after the hi-way we dove down the hill which killed Big John on the single speed. Soon after, he was too spent to stay with the group so he popped on Canal St. The three of us maintained a steady hard effort all the way back to the finish. I would say we had 2 to 3 min on the group. All in all, I got in a great workout, Johnny seems to have put last years back issues behind him (he’s riding great) Mike rode real strong 3 weeks after knee surgery which is a promising sign, and Jacob seems to be in top race shape. That’s two weeks in a row that I was in a break. You guys going to let me go for 3 in a row?
