Sunday ride
Robyn and I drove out to S&S today because my friend Spiotti was going to to give it a go. This was going to be nice for me the whole ride would be the same time as if I was just getting to the Park. We got to the parking lot I opened my bag and my bibs wernt in there. That's a first I have forgot shoes but never shorts. I had to go slumming and where a pair of Chappi's Bubble Fag bibs. Robyn said I should just bag a not suffer the humiliation, I thought about it but sometimes you gotta due what you gotta due. Then I look in my bag for my booties and I was missing one of those to, then the pieces started to fit. The PUPPY!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCK I pictured the wingnuts running around the house ripping up my new Gore bibs and bootie. The little shit gets into everything. Oh well, we hit rt 10 and rolled to the park and I was a little cold. I was a little under dressed because I thought it was going to be a barn burner. I was right, its nice when you hit your clothes just right. The ride started out at a nice pace Guido, Hunter and Josh set out on the first move of the day, first Guido fell off the pace then Hunter. I was no longer worried with the wind and the 30 miles left I was sure Josh would be back. We had Josh at the light on 68 but he made the light and we didn't. Sucks to be him, we kept a steady pace and got on terms with him at the light after the industrial park. The ride started to roll after the ski slope. Mike hit it on the false flat at the shooting range and then I followed it up with a long pull over the top and past Jude lane. The ride was starting to fragment as we approached the turnaround. Mike put in a dig up the hill and dragged a group away but they never go more the 15 seconds, the field was together at the lights by Target. We started to ride hard down the hill into Milldale, when Mike, Josh and I got away (Crowell cracked here). We were gone but got the light at the trestle. After the light Josh, Big Johnny, Guido and RON La rose got clear. Guido and Big Johnny fell off the pace on the false flat by the big bull, La rose would do the same not to soon after. I went off in pursuit, I kept a pace that would reel them in slowly. I didn't want to max myself today. I caught John and had Guido in my sights. I went past him on rt 10 then Johnny pulled through I got a little breather and went back to the front. Ron was next in my sites, just as I got on terms with him he jumped behind a SUV because Josh did 100 meters up the road. This sucked I had to give it the gas to stay on terms with him. Josh opened up his gap from the motor pacing. Then we hit the S&S hill the gap came down and it was just about over at this point. Then we got the second light ugghhh that was that groupo compacto. The group rolled in nice and steady everyone put in there last big pull, nice ride boys. We rode back to S&S then we were off to the coffee house. It was nice to get those ugly bubble ridden bibs off, they were stinging my skin. Like sunlight to a vampire. We had a few laughs at the coffee house which is always fun. I posted this pic to make Crowell happy. I will have my next movie on Wednesday so check back.

Note the black arm band this is to remeber Franco!!! Ciao Franco
Could really care less about this but wondering what you guys think. Once again, no hard feelings on my part at all, really, just trying to sort things out for myself. My old age has made me a bit more grumpy I guess :-)
If the pack is moving along at a good clip, pretty much single file, and you find yourself second in line behind some dude who's still pulling hard and steady at the front, what do you do? Stay behind the dude until he's done or slows a bit wanting you to pull through (i.e., a little signal or just moves over a bit) or up the pace to get around the guy. Remember that the group was still together and it was a steady pace with no attacking from what I could tell.
I choose to sit behind the dude who was keeping the pace steady versus accelerating just to take my turn at the front. I easily had enough in the tank to up the pace and go around if necessary, but why do that, right? It might be different if we were initiating a break or something, but we were rolling along nicely at the time. Dam Ron, you really get into it when you're feeling good. It's all good though.
Can't remember my login name, dam I am getting old.
Ed A
Ed I didnt say anything about that because it was a non-issue I wanted to break the ride and thats a good spot. The line until that point was quick pulls. I wasnt yelling at you I wanted to up the pace at that point. Its time to start riding hard. They dont call me angry for nothing.
grow a dick
Just attack hard next time and that'll break it apart for sure. Guaranteed that I'd get a mouthful if I decided to accelerate and rip the line apart though, I'm a mighty cat. 2 and could do it you know :-) No way to make everyone happy, so just ride it like you want. No biggie.
Ed A
Written like a big dick, but most likely just a small dick.
Ed A
My guess a small Irish dick.
2 rules on pulling through:
1.) If there is a group up the road, you must pull through and then let the other guy through. The worst thing is to block the front in 2nd posistion.
2.) If the group is doing a paceline, then again, you must pull through and then get off the front.
Not if the guy up front is hammering it and coming through would result in a dramatic increase in speed splintering the paceline. Unless, the goal is to split the group rather than ride cohesively as a unit.
Define hammering? I didnt think he was Hammering at all.
The responsbility of the guy in the 2nd position is to hold the wheel of the guy in front of you. If that person ups the speed as you come to the front, then, in my opinion, you should follow. If the guy "attacks" in an attempt to get away or screw-up the paceline, then you should pull through at a steady pace and let the next guy continue the rotation.
Another option is to stay at the back of the group.
The reason those bubble shorts were stinging your skin was because Chappy's crabs were eating at your crotch.
I would have borrowed a pair from Crowell. At least his shit stains and body hair would wash off in the shower.
Nick
Come on Chappy is a clean cut guy! No? As far as using Crowells, it was bad enough with the large bibs falling off me I cant imagine what XXL would be like.
Ed A, I expect more from you! Some blowhard yells at you and wants you to do something stupid which will benefit him? Fuck him, let him come around in the gutter so the guy on his wheel (trying to show his strength) will blow up and the whole paceline will fall apart!! All this for the sunday ride? We all know Ron isn't going on his own! Wake the fuck up!! It is bike racing, that is why a cat 3 like me can keep with Ron in any race week after week!!!
Leave Ed A. alone, he is one of the nicest guys in the peleton.
Anon if your so good and can keep the pace why dont you post your name? Then we will know if you a man or a pussy. Its easy being a tough guy anonymously.
I didn't say I was a tough guy, I said you are not a tough guy! It is bike "racing"...not who has the biggest mouth and the least concern for how dumb they look on the internet.
Hey Anon,
Rondo walks the walk and talks the talk. He does not hide behind an anon name. Man up you big pussy and sign your name. Oh yeah, that's right you are a pussy.
I think you should start your own blog I checked I'mapussy.blogger is free. I sure you and your mother will visit it.
Public Notice:
This blog is purely for entertainment purposes. If you are taking it serious, get the Fuck off Mr. Znon.
What's up with all the anger? Ed A., your first mistake was listening to Ron.
Chris C.
I haven't been offended by anything said, and I'm really not that nice. The grow a dick comment was well taken too. Of course not in the literal sense because, as big John and Little T can attest too, maybe even Ron, us Italians don't have a problem in that department.
I should know better after doing the Sleeping Giant Ride for like 20 years now.
I'll file this away in the who cares folder.
We have Nick.

We have Tiiiimmmmyyyy

Now we have the funny new Anon. Keep it coming, your comments are funnier than Rondo's recent videos!
I'll tell it like it is cause no one else is giving out high fives round here.
