SL4 with DI2 review!!!!!

I want to first talk about the frame. This is the SL4 pro I'm told the S works version is 2 ounces lighter and stiffer. The pro is lighter and stiffer than the SL3 sworks from last year. I will say this it is light years ahead of my SL2. As far as the weight it tipped the scale at Zanes less the bottle cages at 15.7 pounds with pedals. Throw some tubs on there and you have a sub 15 pound bike for sure.

They have stiffened up the front end a considerable amount check out the beefy top tube bulge ant the head tube. The bike tracks straight and true when you ride though washboard and bumpy sections.

The rear end has also changed with tapperd seat stays.

I prefer a Thomson elite seat post. If you you ride a carbon frame and seat post try an aluminum one I think you might like it. It gives you a more ridge feel.

On to the DI2. This SHIT SHIFTS!!!
The rear derailleur shifts no matter what load is on it. The buttons are well placed and have pretty good sensitivity. I would prefer a little bit of a lighter touch, but who am I. The front derailleur is where the magic happens though. It effortlessly moves from small to big and back again. I have tried it with heavy loads and also at high cadence and it just flat out shifts every time. Checkout the gear install of the brain unit that Dave the master mechanic did. It usually is attached to the brake cable. I think this is much cooler.

Last but not least throw in the Dura Ace bar and stem its just an awesome bike. If you want a kick ass bike like this give Ciocci a call at Zanes.

Rondo with Di2???? Anyone want to take bets on how long it is before he forgets to charge the battery and is stuck on the side of MT Vernon Rd? At the very least, I am sure it won’t be too long before we see sparks shooting out of his bike at some point while he is riding down RT-10.

Ron, I hope for everyone’s sake, that you did not build that bike.

Nice bike, Ron. Can't imagine it being better than my SL3, which is a great ride. Now keep the wheels down on this one.

Hi-tech frames & sub 15lb bikes with electronic shifting?

What happened to 25lb winter bikes with steel frames, downtube shifters and toe-clips?

Bring back the rotary dial telephone!
